Take the F train to the Roosevelt Island stop. The campus is a five minute walk south from the subway station.
Roosevelt Island’s Aerial Tramway spans the East River, connecting Roosevelt Island to the Upper East Side in Manhattan, and offers stunning views to passengers. From Manhattan, board the Tramway at 59th Street & 2nd Avenue. The closest subway stations are at 59th Street (4,5,6 trains), Lexington Ave/59th Street (N,Q,R trains), and Lexington Ave/53rd Street (E,M trains).Tramway travel time is 4 – 5 minutes and the campus is a five minute walk south from the subway station.
The tram is integrated into New York City Transit’s MetroCard system and fares are the same as the NYC subway. The Tram runs Sunday-Thursday from 6 AM to 2 AM and on Friday-Saturday from 6 AM to 3:30 AM Trams run every 15 minutes except during rush hours, when there is one every few minutes.
Roosevelt Island is accessible by bike via the Roosevelt Island Bridge from 36th Avenue in Queens. Both the Tram and the subway also permit bikes.
The Cornell Tech campus will feature a new, widened road that includes a dedicated bike lane. Companies at The Bridge have access to a bike repair station, bike parking, and shower and changing facilities.
Roosevelt Island is accessible by car via the Roosevelt Island Bridge from 36th Avenue in Queens. From Manhattan, take the 59th Street Bridge, Midtown Tunnel, or the Triborough Bridge into Queens for the Roosevelt Island Bridge. From Brooklyn, take the Brooklyn Queens Expressway to the Pulaski Bridge into Queens for the Roosevelt Island Bridge.
The Q102 bus operates between Queens and Roosevelt Island. Once on Roosevelt Island, the Roosevelt Island free Red Buss runs north-south to most points on the island. The Red Bus runs every 15 minutes except during rush hours, when there is one every few minutes.
Access Roosevelt Island via the NYC Ferry’s Astoria route, operating between Astoria and downtown Manhattan. Stops include Astoria, Roosevelt Island, Long Island City, East 34th Street, and Wall Street/Pier 11. Ferries run every 25 minutes. Purchase tickets through the NYC Ferry app, ticket booth at Pier 11/Wall Street, and onboard.
